Thanks for your interest in The Lady Tradies Australia

Below is a little more about us, what we do, why we do it & how we can help you!

OUR MISSION is to:
Promote, Support, Connect & Encourage Women & Girls in Non Traditional roles and Trades.

OUR AIM is to:
Provide benefits, bonuses, support and assistance to all Lady Tradies & the Community at large by:

• Creating more work for Lady Tradies and/or their employers
• Providing a network of support and encouragement
• Assisting with information on apprenticeships, employment and training
• Promoting and encouraging females in non-traditional roles and the trades in general
• Obtaining trade discounts and sponsorships for their benefit
• Providing the community an alternative to the 'traditional male tradesperson', by having the ability & alternative to use a Lady Tradie for the work you require instead.

WE DO THIS BY:
PROMOTING:
We promote existing Lady Tradies who are employed, or run their own businesses, to Industry, Business, & the General Public. Through research, we found there is very little knowledge that Lady Tradies (or Women in Trades) even exist & the connection between them to the general public is almost non existent. By promoting them, we will create more work for those companies that employ a Lady Tradie & certainly more for those struggling to run a business of their own.
It provides people with an option to chose a female or a male to do the work in their home or at their business as they require.

SUPPORTING:
Many Lady Tradies struggle to be recognised in the industries or the community as a whole.
We provide advice, guidance & direction to those seeking help with certain issues they may face, job placement, and apprenticeship information etc. We run industry style (or related) competitions amongst our followers to create a bond within the group to support each other. In future, we hope to also be able to provide trade discounts through various suppliers & sponsors.

CONNECTING:
Our Facebook site provides a great deal of interaction between existing Lady Tradies on any number of issues or advice. We even get support from men on the site too!  We connect people, places, companies, training & apprenticeship centres, with advice to both existing & potential/future Lady Tradies. Our future website will also provide this long needed interaction even further. The numerous people from the general public on our Facebook site also seeing this interaction, - which further increases the general promotion of our existence & the overall concept.

Another part of our future website will be a ‘connect me’ section. Where job seekers & employers can post ‘looking for work’ or ‘work available’ ads, specifically to Lady Tradies. Its a way for them to advertise that they are open to hiring a Lady Tradie & a
place for Women to stand out in the selection process, rather than be hidden amongst it.

ENCOURAGING:
We get numerous direct emails & messages through Facebook from young women looking for apprenticeship advice, connections
& information & I can happily say I respond to every single one of them.
It excites me to think that a young girl is thinking of taking on a non traditional role, & frankly, having the courage to reach for her dreams. We connect them to various other organisations, RTO’s, GTO's, State Training Depts & companies we know may be hiring or open to Lady Tradies.  We also encourage business, industry & the general public through promotion, interaction & communication, overall acceptance & involvement on the site. I know this has helped as I have had direct emails & requests to provide them with a Lady Tradie to do work for them as well as emails from girls that have achieved jobs or apprenticeships. Nothing makes me happier than getting that feedback.

FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC & COMMUNITY:
Should you wish to use a Lady Tradie, how do you find them?

We are the link between you & the numerous Lady Tradies that exist & are currently working in their various fields.
On this site, you can search & find a Lady Tradie in your area to do renovations, repairs & work on your home or business as required.

All the things you would use a general (male) trades person for – but now you have the choice of using a female instead.
All Lady Tradies are fully trade qualified in their field, or if still an apprentice - work under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson.

Why Lady Tradies?
  • They return your calls PROMPTLY,
  • They listen to YOUR needs,
  • They TURN UP on time,
  • They do the job as YOU want  &
  • They CLEAN up afterwards!

You'll feel comfortable talking openly to your tradie without feeling silly. Ask anything you like, they'll cut the jargon & talk to you in simple terms, taking the time to understand your wants, needs & budget for your individual project.

Welcome to the new world of being a fully satisfied customer with your own Lady Tradie!

The site is not only for females, we work with many men that support the Lady Tradies concept, as well as businesses, community groups, & the NSW Government via Women NSW too! - so feel free to join us.

We work with numerous professional groups such as the: MBA, MTA, CAMS, MAAP, ABBTF, NAWIC, & many industry groups such as: Farming, Technology, Mining, Oil, Gas, Construction & numerous associated Trade companies.

The NSW Government through Women NSW supports the The Lady Tradies Australia, 'Women, Work, and the Web' project. Their support & contribution has literally meant we can take this concept further to help promote Women & Girls in Trades in any way we can. Along with all our other supporters, we greatly appreciate their support.
